Six opening-title sequences made the cut for Outstanding Title Design at this year's Emmys, and the shortlist reads like a motion-design reunion: Imaginary Forces and Digital Kitchen each land two, with Elastic and Filmograph taking the other pair. The work runs from hand-drawn mid-century horror to a single unbroken 3D camera move.

Smoke

Digital Kitchen's open for the Apple TV+ arson drama treats fire as evidence, building a whodunit out of embers and smoke under a Thom Yorke score. Executive creative director Mason Nicoll and art directors Rachel Brickel and Peter Pak keep every frame reading like a clue.

It: Welcome to Derry

Filmograph goes the opposite way for HBO's It prequel, rendering small-town dread in a campy mid-century illustration style, all period travel-poster charm with something wrong underneath. Aaron Becker's team leans on flat color and storybook framing instead of gore.

Ponies

Ronnie Koff and Imaginary Forces built the Ponies open on a collision of Cold War visual cultures, cut to Jung Jaeil's score. We already pulled Ronnie Koff's title design for Ponies apart frame by frame at launch. This nod isn't a surprise.

Murderbot

Elastic took Murderbot, the Apple TV+ sci-fi comedy, in a deliberately quirky direction, the tone carrying as much as the visuals. Creative director Hazel Baird's sequence sells the show's comic register before a line of dialogue lands.

Young Sherlock

Imaginary Forces' second nominee, for Amazon MGM Studios' Young Sherlock, is the technical showpiece of the bunch: a single unbroken shot that threads the entire title through one continuous move. Spider-Noir

Back to Digital Kitchen for Spider-Noir, where the Amazon Prime Video series gets a pulp-noir treatment: rain-slick cityscapes, hard shadows, and 1930s crime-serial mood, set to Kirby's "Saving Grace." Mason Nicoll and Peter Pak return, trading Smoke's embers for ink and streetlight.
